South-East Archipelago in the Gulf of Finland

The life in Haapasaari

Our family owns a summer house in the Finnish national park in the South-East archipelago of Haapasaari, 15 nautical miles from the coastline of Kotka. We call the fishing farm as 'Tenula'. Our history has been searched by my uncel Tauno Tuomala over 50 years and Annikki Yrjölä has made a genealogy over 25 years.

I am proud of my roots until year 1611, when our forefather Matts Marcusson placed himself to this rocky island Haapasaari.
